Sika Hinds
The Sika hind stalking season runs through the winter and as such means potentially inclement weather and short daylight hours, although Scotland can provide some beautiful winter conditions with a combination of light breeze, sun and snow-covered landscapes.
With long hours of darkness for the deer to feed, the sportsman generally has a short window of opportunity at dawn and dusk as the deer make their way out of and back to cover. This is particularly true of woodland Sika which are renowned for their secretive nature. The open hill and large agricultural parks are the exception here as the deer are accessible throughout the day to the sportsman.
Season Dates
